Inspired by the Vietnamese fishermen's basket boats, Axi Plaza - a shopping, entertainment and conference center was officially opened on Cam Ranh peninsula on April 25, 2024.

Axi Plaza is the largest shopping, entertainment and conference center in Cam Ranh with a sea view conference room that can accommodate 1,000 people. Axi Plaza marks the third major development of The Anam Group, following The Anam Cam Ranh resort opened in 2017 and The Anam Mui Ne in 2023. Located adjacent to The Anam Cam Ranh, Axi Plaza promises to bring a new breeze to Cam Ranh, once known as the largest deep-water port in Southeast Asia and now becoming an attractive destination next to Nha Trang.
Responding to the press at the press conference to launch Axi Plaza, Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh - Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism said: "Khanh Hoa is a leading tourist destination in Vietnam and has the largest number of hotel rooms and accommodations in the country. Khanh Hoa province welcomes the launch of the new high-end product Axi Plaza, which is very suitable for the large number of 5-star hotels in the province today."
The design of Axi Plaza is inspired by the traditional Vietnamese basket boat.
Featuring an ideal location for “beach events”, a large hall and banquet hall of 1,200 m2on the 3rd floor of Axi Plaza with a capacity of up to 1,000 people. The interior of the hall is luxurious, featuring a high ceiling with fan-shaped wooden slats and modern, state-of-the-art equipment such as a 75 m LED screen.2.
The 360-degree rooftop on the 5th floor is designed for banquets and events with a total area of nearly 1,100 m2 and a panoramic view of the white sand beach and clear blue water of Bai Dai. From Axi Plaza, looking northwest is the "Song Lo" cape with a unique terrain known as the place where "waves touch the mountain".

Between the boat-shaped building and Bai Dai beach is an outdoor event space with a large lawn and three ocean-facing swimming pools, including a saltwater pool and a children's pool supervised by lifeguards. Behind the spacious reception area on the second floor is a 200-square-meter lobby.2with spectacular ocean views and a food court serving Vietnamese dishes.
Axi Plaza was established to meet the needs of domestic and foreign tourists to be able to shop, enjoy fun time with delicious food, as well as for tourists in the area to spend time waiting for flights from Cam Ranh airport.
In addition to the space for MICE events, the indoor and outdoor dining areas on the 4th and 1st floors of Axi Plaza are also dedicated to the shopping area with 46 stores ranging in size from 14 m2up to 239 m2.
The exterior of the building is designed with large wooden bars that are hundreds of years old, woven together to form a giant basket boat. At night, Axi Plaza is brilliant with colorful lights thanks to a modern lighting system.
At the opening ceremony, Mr. Pham Van Hien, founder of The Anam Group shared: “Axi Plaza is a new development for Cam Ranh and the entire Central Coast region, where tourists and business people will not be able to find a similar shopping, entertainment and conference center anywhere else. With the shape of a basket boat and a modern and sophisticated design, Axi Plaza has helped us pay homage to the contemporary, sophisticated culture of Vietnam."
The building's exterior design is made of large wooden bars with hundreds of years of durability, woven together to form the shape of a giant basket boat.
Originating during the French colonial period, the basket boat was an invention of Vietnamese fishermen to avoid the expensive boat tax they had to pay to the colonialists. Since then, the basket boat quickly became a characteristic of the South Central Coast region.
Mr. Hien added that with a lobby, swimming pool, beach, luggage storage area and many other amenities, Axi Plaza is the “ideal stopover” for tourists who have checked out of the hotel at noon and still have time before leaving Khanh Hoa.
Accordingly, both Axi Plaza and The Anam Cam Ranh will provide all-inclusive services to tourists at one location. Although just opened, Axi Plaza has been chosen by many partners to organize events, weddings and forums in cooperation with the local tourism department taking place this year. The Anam Group will organize major events such as classical concerts, fashion shows and product launches.
