Alma Resort Cam Ranh
With the ambition to become the resort with the largest solar energy project in Vietnam, Alma Resort is installing 4,470 solar panels covering a total area of 23,290 m².2The solar power system covers the entire roofing of 196 villas, two V-shaped buildings with 384 apartments, the reception lobby, and the engine room. With a maximum capacity of 2,462 kilowatts on sunny days, the system is expected to meet 25% to 35% of the resort's electricity needs, depending on occupancy rates during off-peak and peak seasons.
Alma Resort is pioneering a joint effort with 12 other resorts in Bai Dai to clean up 15km of the beach and is moving towards establishing a plastic waste recycling plant in Cam Ranh.
It is estimated that this solar energy system will help Alma save hundreds of billions of VND in electricity costs and reduce tens of thousands of tons of carbon (CO2) emissions over a period of 25 years. Alma Resort also appointed a sustainability officer to oversee energy use, resource conservation, recycling, pollution reduction, waste treatment, transportation, staff training, and construction design, while managing and coordinating the activities of three specialized departments: green products, innovation and solutions, and people and partnerships.
The first solar panels have been installed at Alma Resort Cam Ranh.
