"We are all searching for happiness, but perhaps we are searching the wrong way. We strive to become wealthy, but that doesn't necessarily make us happier. That's why the Happiness Research Institute has built a museum that embodies positive human emotions," a representative from the Happiness Museum shared.

Located in Copenhagen -the most livable city in the worldThe Museum of Happiness is a 240 m2 exhibition space. The museum comprises 8 rooms allowing visitors to explore different theories about happiness.natureof happiness. The museum's sections include "Geography of Happiness," "Politics of Happiness," "Happiness Lab," "Anatomy of Smiles," "History of Happiness," "Happiness in Northern Europe," and "The Future of Happiness."

Through its exhibits, the museum aims to help visitors realize that happiness is something everyone, from anywhere, can experience. Visitors will understand the Nordic definition of "hygge," which describes a feeling of warmth, happiness, and tranquility.
Visitors have the opportunity to interact directly with the exhibited artworks.
Beyond simply admiring the artwork, visitors to the museum also have the opportunity to interact with the pieces. For example, the creative team placed a wallet full of cash on the floor. Most visitors assumed someone had dropped it and brought it to the reception desk to find the owner. After months of experimentation, the wallet was always returned to the reception desk with the money intact, with no negative results. Mark Wiking, CEO of the Happiness Research Institute, noted that the experiment demonstrates the correlation between happiness levels and trust between people.

Opened in July 2020, during a time when the pandemic was raging and negatively impacting people's mental well-being, the Museum of Happiness serves as a message reminding us that the world still holds much joy and we shouldn't let anxiety overwhelm us.

To date, the museum has consistently welcomed a steady stream of visitors and has implemented adequate preventative measures, ensuring the safety of any visitor who wants to explore the aspects of happiness."
