The Red Sea is located in the Liaohe River delta, about 30 km southwest of Panjin city, China.It is called that because of its appearance.Its appearance is caused by a type of seagrass that grows in alkaline, saline soil.TypeThis weed begins to sprout and grow during April or May and remains green throughout the summer.But in the autumn,This type of weed turns a vibrant red, making the beach look as if it's covered by an endless red carpet, creating a truly unique and rare sight.Red SeaIt is a nature reserve, and only a small area is open to tourists.

Besides its stunning scenery, the Red Sea is also known for its relatively large number of migratory birds. More than 236 species of birds are found here, including several endangered species such as the crowned crane and the black-billed gull, among others.

Where

Panjin City is located northeast of Beijing, near the coast of Liaodong Bay in southern Liaoning Province. The Red Sea Nature Reserve is approximately 30 km southwest of Panjin City.

How to get there

- By train: There are seven trains from Beijing to Panjin every day, so the easiest way to reach the Red Sea is by train. With express trains, it takes less than 3.5 hours, and 5-6 hours with slower trains. Once in Panjin, you can take a bus or taxi to the beach area. The Red Sea area in Chinese is called Hong Hai Tian Feng Jing Qu.

- By bus: Panjin has at least two long-distance bus routes running from Beijing, Tianjin, and several other nearby major cities.
