Initially, Ca Mau will temporarily open an inland waterway terminal in Song Doc town (Tran Van Thoi district) to allow this sea tourism route to become operational in 2020. In the long term, the province will invest in building a seaport approximately 500 meters long on the southern bank of Song Doc to facilitate its operation.
"Phu Quoc Island District and Nam Du Island are famous tourist destinations, attracting a large number of domestic and international tourists. Therefore, when the tourist route is opened, it will create more choices for tourists, making it easier to visit famous landmarks in the region. For example, when tourists want to explore the Mekong Delta, they can take a boat from Phu Quoc or Nam Du to Ca Mau to visit Ca Mau Cape, then go to Can Tho and fly back, or they can go from Can Tho to Ca Mau and then to Phu Quoc to fly back," shared Mr. Tran Hieu Hung, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province.
The Ca Mau - Nam Du - Phu Quoc sea route will make it easier for tourists to visit tourist attractions in Ca Mau province in particular and the Mekong Delta region in general.
The Ca Mau sea tourism route connecting Nam Du and Phu Quoc, once operational, will be the first sea tourism route in Ca Mau province. It is expected not only to attract tourists to Ca Mau but also to facilitate sea tourism experiences for visitors.
