Accordingly, Covid-19 patient No. 46 (30 years old) served on a flight from London (UK) to Hanoi at 5:00 a.m. on March 9. On March 11, this flight attendant was quarantined at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases No. 2, and on March 12, she was found to be infected with Covid-19.
At an urgently convened meeting on the morning of March 13, the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee emphasized that a new situation has emerged in Hanoi and requires the participation of the people and accommodation facilities.
It is known that the address where the disease broke out is the flight attendants on Nguyen Son Street (Long Bien District) and the patient's home address is in Thanh Xuan District. After returning to the flight attendants, the patient went to eat at some places in the area such as Lane 148 Nguyen Son, rented a hotel in Co Linh (Long Bien District), and did not return home in Thanh Xuan. Currently, 22 close contacts have been identified, of which Long Bien District has 5 people (1 driver of the flight attendants and 4 flight attendants).
According to the Deputy Director of Hanoi City Police, of the 187 passengers on flight VN54 that landed at Noi Bai on March 9, 94 people, mostly British, were screened, currently in Hanoi, mainly in Hoan Kiem district.
According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, the flight had 211 people on board, including 195 passengers and 16 crew members. The flight attendant infected with Covid-19 worked in the economy class.
Among the connecting passengers, 7 flew to Ho Chi Minh City, 3 to Da Nang, and 1 to Hue. There were 6 international connecting passengers to Japan and 1 to Laos. There are currently 177 passengers who may still be in Hanoi, not including those who got off the airport and traveled by road to other localities.
Currently, Hanoi is continuing to work with accommodation establishments and travel agencies to update itineraries, contacts... to inform localities to promptly prevent the epidemic.
