In the spirit of welcoming international tourists, Vietnam has fully opened its doors to tourism by granting visa exemptions to 13 countries, including: Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Belarus.
Accordingly,International tourists (inbound) are exempt from visa requirements when entering Vietnam.With a temporary stay period of 15 days, regardless of passport type or purpose of entry. If entering by air, a negative Covid-19 test result is required (except for children under 2 years old), along with completing a health declaration before entry and using the PC-COVID application during the stay.
Tourists visiting Hanoi on tours organized by travel agencies will receive detailed information and assistance with the necessary procedures when registering for the tour program.
The "Colorful Hanoi" hot air balloon festival will be held on March 25th.
Furthermore, Hanoi also aims to promote and attract tourists from key markets with high levels of safety in pandemic prevention and control, such as: EU countries, ASEAN countries, India, South Korea, Japan, China, Australia, the US, and Canada; then gradually expand to other markets. Simultaneously, it will organize tourism product promotion programs abroad, such as the TOPRESA tourism fair in France and the JATA tourism promotion fair in Japan.
Regarding tourism within the city, the city continues to cooperate with other localities in the North, Ho Chi Minh City and the Southern provinces, the Central-Central Highlands region, etc., in order to develop integrated tourism programs to attract tourists.
Alongside this, throughout 2022, a series of vibrant activities, events, and festivals, rich in the cultural identity of the capital city, attracted tourists before, during, and after the SEA Games 31: Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival, Hanoi Tourism Festival, Hanoi Culinary and Traditional Craft Village Tourism Festival, Traditional Craft Village and Street Festival 2022, Hanoi Ao Dai Festival, etc.

Tourism products and destinations associated with heritage sites, traditional craft villages, and nighttime tourism products are also key development goals for the capital city. The city will upgrade four main heritage tourism routes from the city center to the Bat Trang pottery village (Gia Lam), Huong Son (My Duc), Thach That - Quoc Oai, and Son Tay - Ba Vi. Simultaneously, it will revitalize pedestrian streets, prioritizing experiential tourism based on the exploitation of traditional values.
