Originally a cow herder in Litang County, Tibet Autonomous Region (Sichuan Province, China), Ding Zhen became famous for his attractive appearance after his image was widely shared on social networks.
His wild beauty is far from the sleek, graceful features of contemporary showbiz beauties. Because of this, Dinh Chan is sought after by the media, even invited to be the cover character for fashion magazines.
Harper's Bazaar China's August 2021 issue chose Ding Zhen as its representative image. Photographer Duan Chao set the scene for the shoot in Ding Zhen's hometown of Tibet.
The idea of the photo series is to capture Dinh Chan's daily moments such as taking care of and playing with horses, and migrating with nomadic brothers up the mountain.
