MINI celebrates the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with a one-off specially designed MINI Hatch to commemorate the couple and donate the proceeds to one of their chosen charities. After the wedding on 19 May, the unique MINI will be handed over to the Children’s HIV Association (CHIVA) for public auction.
“As an iconic British brand with almost 60 years of history, we are delighted to mark the Royal Wedding with this special charity gift,” said Oliver Heilmer, Director of Design at MINI. “The MINI design team has created a one-of-a-kind MINI Hatch for the occasion. The specially designed roof, combined with 3D-printed interior and exterior details and special embroidery, makes this MINI unlike any other MINI.”
Exterior
The car is painted in a unique Crystal White paint, with silver-blue trim around the car and on the hood giving the body a completely different look. The typical MINI design can still be recognized through the chrome trim, hexagonal grille frame, door handles, headlight trim and taillights highlighted in dark blue, giving the MINI a modern and fresh look. The Union Jack-style taillights and dark blue matte metal wheel rims provide the perfect accent to the car's appearance.

A special highlight of the exterior is the paint finish of the hood, using many colors. The hood pattern details are meticulously done by hand in many layers, combined with motifs from the two national flags of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle - the Union Jack and Stars & Stripes. In particular, the right turn signal cover is 3D printed and embossed with the first two letters M and H along with a heart and a ring. When the two front doors of the car are opened, a strip of light with the word "Just Married" reflected on the ground welcomes the owner to get into the car.
Over the past few weeks, the MINI Yours Customized program has offered MINI customers in selected markets the opportunity to make their MINI absolutely unique with the help of 3D printing technology on personalized side light covers, door trims and lighting.
Interior
The choice of Satellite Grey leather creates the ideal space to highlight the distinctive elements of the MINI. The dark blue finish with chrome trim, chosen for the exterior, is found on selected interior features with chrome trim. The initials of the bride and groom's names, the wedding date and a well-wishes for the newlyweds are added to the large trim strip at the front of the front passenger seat. A special feature of the interior is the classic-inspired hood graphic, which is integrated into the trim strips in the doors, behind the steering wheel and into the headrests. The rear seats feature a Union Jack panel on one side and Stars & Stripes on the other.
