The flight from Switzerland to Germany is 20km long but in reality you only travel from one side of a lake to the other. This is considered the shortest international flight in the world today, lasting only...8 minutes.

In 2016, an Austrian airline opened a direct flight from St Gallen-Altenrhein Airport (Switzerland) to Friedrichshafen Airport (Germany). In fact, passengers only fly to the two shores of Lake Constance, a distance of 20km, with a total flight time of 8 minutes. This is the reason why this flight became the shortest international flight in the world.
