Club Med Finolhu Villas, Maldives – Club Med's first Exclusive Collection resort in East Asia, South Asia and the Pacific (ESAP) region.
Located just 25 minutes from Koh Samui Airport, Club Med Exclusive Collection Koh Samui offers a vibrant beachfront resort experience, celebrating the distinctive island lifestyle of Thailand. This project is part of the global Club Med network, which comprises over 60 Premium and Exclusive Collection resorts across 25 countries. It also marks a significant milestone in the brand's development in Thailand since Club Med Phuket opened in 1985. Currently, the Exclusive Collection portfolio accounts for approximately 13% of the group's total global capacity, encompassing 21 exclusive resorts, including 6 Exclusive Collection resorts, 9 Exclusive Collection accommodations, 5 villas and chalets, and the iconic Club Med 2 yacht.
The official launch ceremony for the project was held at Club Med Kiroro Peak, Japan, with the attendance of Mr. Stéphane Maquaire, President and CEO of Club Med; Ms. Rachael Harding, General Manager of Club Med's ESAP region; and Mr. Soravit Chairoj, Co-CEO and Managing Partner of Central Group Capital.
“Located on a secluded stretch of coastline in Koh Samui, this resort marks a significant expansion in our portfolio,” shared Stéphane Maquaire. “With strong growth momentum, from the upcoming opening of Club Med Borneo in Malaysia and Club Med South Africa Beach & Safari, to the signing of Club Med Manado in Indonesia and Club Med Tremblant in Canada, this new project will further solidify Club Med’s leading position in all-inclusive luxury resorts in unique destinations like Koh Samui. Beyond the guest experience, we remain committed to creating positive and sustainable impacts through local workforce development, career pathways, and promoting sustainable tourism. This holistic approach ensures our presence contributes to the long-term economic and environmental development of our community partners and the destination.”
Club Med Borneo, Malaysia, scheduled to open in November 2026, is now officially open for reservations.
Ms. Rachael Harding added: “The development of our first Exclusive Collection resort in Thailand further reinforces our commitment to delivering premium resort experiences for travelers, while also enhancing the appeal of this exceptional destination to visitors worldwide. We believe that with a diverse international clientele, a focus on upscale family experiences, and a comprehensive ecosystem of services ranging from sports to leisure activities, Club Med Koh Samui will become a vibrant and unique coastal destination.”
“As Koh Samui gains increasing attention on the international tourism map, we see this as an opportunity to redefine the standard of luxury in a way that is uniquely Club Med,” shared Bruno Courbet, Country Director for Thailand, Indonesia, India, and emerging markets. “With a fresh perspective on luxury resort experiences, we offer a balance between the privacy of a boutique resort and a people-centered philosophy, while also valuing freedom and multiculturalism. Our goal is to create a sophisticated destination in Koh Samui, where every detail is seamlessly integrated, allowing guests to leave their worries behind and fully enjoy the island’s beauty and meaningful moments together.”

Central Group Capital, the fund management arm of Central Group, one of Thailand's leading diversified conglomerates, completed its launch fund in April 2023 with a total capital raised of 10 billion baht (approximately US$300 million), making it the largest fund in this sector in Thailand. The fund is managed by an experienced investment team, under the close supervision of Central Group's senior leadership, and aims to capitalize on the recovery of the tourism industry through selective investments in the hotel sector. Through promising projects, the fund expects to contribute to the growth of Thailand's tourism industry while providing attractive returns for investors.
“We strongly believe in Thailand’s unique appeal to travelers worldwide, and Koh Samui is one of the top international destinations,” shared Soravit Chairoj. “We are honored to have the opportunity to own and redevelop this stunning resort. Our team has meticulously designed the project to maximize the advantages of its private beach and lush natural landscape. We look forward to partnering with Club Med to welcome visitors from around the world and offer them authentic Koh Samui experiences.”
The Club Med Exclusive Collection Koh Samui resort, with its 303 rooms, offers a modern, elegant island getaway while providing a rich and enriching experience. Located on the North Shore of Koh Samui, the resort boasts a private beach stretching over 200 meters, offering guests a variety of exciting water sports and dynamic beach experiences.
The redevelopment plan includes expanding room capacity, comprehensively upgrading accommodation and common areas, developing new culinary experiences, and introducing Club Med's signature programs such as the Kids Club with age-specific experiences, and Amazing Family, where families can bond through meaningful exploration activities. The resort's design is inspired by Thailand's cultural heritage and the island's natural beauty.
Club Med Exclusive Collection Koh Samui is expected to officially open in the second half of 2028. Booking information will be announced closer to the opening date.
