CNN suggests that the best coffees come from many places around the world, each with its own unique flavor. For example, Melbourne has a "very special coffee culture," while in Rome, coffee is so deeply ingrained in the lifestyle that it's hard to find a local who doesn't drink coffee. In CNN's list of the 10 best coffee destinations, Hanoi is ranked alongside "coffee capitals" like Wellington (New Zealand), Melbourne (Australia), London (England), Singapore, Seattle (USA), Rome (Italy), Nigeria, Austria, and Ireland.

And once you're in Hanoi, you can easily find a great cup of coffee just by wandering around, but tourists are "warned" not to expect to be served a flat white (a combination of espresso and frothed milk) or Americano like in other cities around the world. Hanoi coffee has its own unique charm. According to CNN, Hanoi coffee is brewed in a traditional filter, dripping into a cup below to produce a very strong, concentrated coffee. Drinkers sip it slowly to savor the taste. It can be black coffee or coffee with sweetened condensed milk.

CNN further reports that one of the most popular and widely enjoyed types of coffee in Vietnam is egg coffee. Egg coffee is unique because of its frothy layer made from whipped egg whites, while the egg yolks combine with coffee to create a rich and distinctive drink. On Instagram, egg coffee is also frequently featured attractively on Vietnamese social media accounts.

Also in this article, CNN listed some of Vietnam's prominent coffee varieties such as: black coffee, characterized by its strong, slow-drip brewing; milk coffee, which is black coffee mixed with sweetened condensed milk; and coconut coffee, which consists of frozen coconut milk mixed with strong black coffee, topped with shredded coconut cream. CNN suggested that coconut coffee seems more like a dessert than a beverage.
