Vietnam's effective control of the Covid-19 pandemic has impressed the prestigious travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler (CNTraveler), which recently included Vietnam in its lists of top emerging destinations after the Covid-19 pandemic and in 2021 in its US and UK editions.
In a September 21st post about countries that have cleverly adapted to sustain their tourism industry, CNTraveler noted: “Vietnam – a Southeast Asian nation – was one of the first to implement lockdowns, keeping infection rates among the lowest in the world. Quarantine restrictions were eased in May, but borders remained closed until the end of summer. To offset the $32 billion tourism losses, the government launched the ‘Vietnamese People Travel in Vietnam’ program, with airfare and luxury resort prices reduced by up to 50% in some cases.”
Vietnam ranked 13th among the 21 best destinations for 2021, according to CNTraveller.
