Captivated by the beauty of the misty city during the changing seasons, photographer Bui Huy Tuong (artistic name toilatuong, from Quang Binh), currently living and working in Da Lat, spontaneously captured everyday, simple moments of this land through his photo series "Autumn in Da Lat Through the Eyes of a Lover." As someone deeply attached to the city of a thousand flowers, the photo series simply reflects moments he gathered from his daily life and the lives of the people of Da Lat.

“I have a special affection for Da Lat. In other words, I love this city so much that every year I usually set aside time to dedicate a photo series about autumn in Da Lat. I am impressed by the changing leaves in autumn, the weather, the scenery, and the people on the streets. Everything seems more beautiful, strangely lovely, with a gentle charm like a Da Lat girl,” Huy Tuong confided.

To create this autumn photo series of Da Lat, the photographer spent 7 to 10 days wandering through the streets and alleys: "Besides the days spent shooting, I would spend my free time strolling around and capturing moments of Da Lat in autumn, either in the early morning or at sunset."

Instead of famous, crowded locations that everyone knows, the locations featured in Huy Tuong's photo series are often quiet, peaceful street corners. "I chose people and scenery as the criteria for this photo series. Because I clearly see that people, as well as everything around them, are very poetic and dreamy," the photographer explained.

Sharing his most memorable experience while creating his unique photo series of Da Lat, Huy Tuong said: “Perhaps, what I remember most from shooting this year's autumn series is getting lost in a small alley in Da Lat. The image of an elderly man with white hair strolling in the small garden, admiring the surrounding scenery, made me exclaim, 'Oh, how beautiful!' Or the image of the elderly men and women sitting by Xuan Huong Lake, chatting with each other in the early morning. The sunlight peeking over the hills, reflecting on the lake's surface…”

The pristine beauty of Da Lat in autumn is carefully captured in every photograph by him. The photo series partly portrays the romance and gentle colors of a dreamy city in autumn. With that dreamy and peaceful atmosphere, Huy Tuong's autumn photos of Da Lat have received much love and interaction on social media from young people who have fallen in love with this highland city.

Offering advice to young people who are also passionate about capturing simple moments in everyday life, Huy Tuong shared: "I only record things based on my inner feelings and perceptions. I press the shutter button slowly and gently. I observe attentively and wait for a few moments."
