Possessing a rocky plateau with both dangerous and poetic mountain passes, Ha Giang is always an attractive destination for the travel community, especially backpackers. But few people know that Ha Giang also has a giant, mysterious sinkhole located about 3 km from Meo Vac town, hidden on a pine hill of Tia Chi Dua village, Giang Chu Phin commune.
Giap Van Hai (30 years old), known as the "tourist local" of Ha Giang, along with youtubers Hoang Nam - Challenge Me, Nang Cao Nguyen, are the ones who discovered this sinkhole. During their trip to explore Meo Vac to find unique places that can attract tourists, they found the sinkhole by using satellite maps and drones.

When the photos taken from below the hole were posted on social media and attracted the attention of the travel and exploration community, many people thought that this was a sinkhole in Quang Binh and were surprised to know that Ha Giang has such a unique place.
Describing his feelings when he finally set foot down the sinkhole, Giap Van Hai used the word "happiness". This place is still wild so he had to use a safety rope to get down the hole. "When I was down there and looked up, I felt so small compared to nature. This reminded me of the story of the Frog at the Bottom of the Well. If I come back next time, I will challenge myself to spend 24 hours down the hole to feel it more fully" - Hai shared.

He added that during the exploration process, he also discovered many other large and small sinkholes in Ha Giang. However, this is a hole with a beautiful shooting angle and is very easy to explore.
Overcoming the dangers and steepness, visitors will enjoy the results of the conquest, the majesty of nature and beautiful pictures. Local people do not know when the sinkhole was formed, but they often go down to the hole to get grass to feed the cows. The vegetation below the hole is diverse, with many ferns, making visitors feel like they are traveling through time, exploring prehistoric times.

Currently, this place has not been exploited for safe tourism. Tourists who want to challenge themselves can only follow the trails that locals often use, or use ropes to go down. Youtuber Hoang Nam estimates that the depth of the hole is about 38.5 m. Tourists who come to conquer the sinkhole should remember to bring enough protective gear and go with experienced people to ensure their safety.
