Located 3 km from Meo Vac town, the recently discovered sinkhole in Giang Su Phin (Ha Giang) is attracting adventure tourism enthusiasts due to its challenging experiences and majestic beauty.

With its rocky plateau and winding, yet picturesque mountain passes, Ha Giang has always been an attractive destination for travel enthusiasts, especially backpackers. But few know that Ha Giang also has a giant, mysterious sinkhole located about 3 km from Meo Vac town, hidden on a pine-covered hill in Tia Chi Dua village, Giang Chu Phin commune.

Giap Van Hai (30 years old), dubbed the "local tourism expert" of Ha Giang, along with YouTubers Hoang Nam - Challenge Me and Nang Cao Nguyen, were the ones who discovered this sinkhole. During a trip to explore Meo Vac to find unique places that could attract tourists, they found the sinkhole by scanning satellite maps and using a drone.

Describing his feelings upon finally reaching the bottom of the sinkhole, Giáp Văn Hải used the word "happiness." The location was still unspoiled, so he had to use a safety rope to descend. "When I was down there looking up, I felt so small compared to nature. This reminded me of the story of the Frog in the Well. If I come back for another experience, I'll challenge myself to spend 24 hours in the sinkhole to fully appreciate it," Hải shared.

He added that during the exploration, he also discovered many other sinkholes of varying sizes in Ha Giang. However, this particular sinkhole had a beautiful photo angle and was very easy to explore.

After overcoming the treacherous and steep challenges, visitors will reap the rewards of a sense of accomplishment, the grandeur of nature, and stunning photographs. Locals don't know when the sinkhole formed, but they often descend into it to collect grass for their cows. The diverse vegetation at the bottom of the sinkhole, including many ferns, makes visitors feel as if they are traveling through time and exploring prehistoric times.

Currently, this location is not yet developed for safe tourism. Tourists who want to challenge themselves can only follow the trails used by locals or rappel down. YouTuber Hoang Nam estimates the sinkhole's depth to be approximately 38.5 meters. Tourists attempting to conquer the sinkhole should remember to bring adequate safety equipment and go with experienced individuals to ensure their safety.
