This case involves a 33-year-old woman currently residing in residential area No. 10 in Con Dao district, who has received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Previously, on November 10th, this woman traveled from Con Dao to Trang Bom district (Dong Nai province), then moved to Thuan An city (Binh Duong province) to work as an employee at a karaoke bar. There was a Covid-19 case there, so on the afternoon of November 12th, she went to Ho Chi Minh City to catch a flight back to Con Dao.
On November 18th, she went to the Con Dao District Military and Civilian Medical Center to have a sample taken for testing, and on the morning of November 20th, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention released a positive result for SARS-CoV-2.

After detecting the first Covid-19 case, authorities sealed off the affected area, traced 34 F1 contacts and 48 F2 contacts, and sent samples to the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Center for Disease Control for testing.
With this positive case, Con Dao is the only "green zone" in Ba Ria - Vung Tau to record Covid-19. After the locality returned to the "new normal" state, the island district welcomed approximately 1,000 people, including tourists traveling under the "tourism bubble model," personnel working on construction projects, and residents stranded on the mainland who traveled to the island by plane.
To date, 95% of the population in Con Dao district aged 18 and above have received all doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, and students aged 12-17 have also received their first dose.
