Known as the "emerald" of Xinjiang (China), Sayram Lake has become a famous place attracting young people because of its scenery and the love story behind it. Sayram Lake takes on a new look each season. However, June to November is the best time to visit the lake. At this time, flocks of swans come here to feed and enter the mating season. In July and August, Mongolians and Kazaks gather in the fields to celebrate the Nadam Festival. The event lasts for six days and includes competitions such as horse racing, wrestling and archery. Herders from the surrounding areas also attend the festival in traditional national costumes. In addition, the event also brings together many cultural performances such as dancing, singing, jumping and a “girl chasing” competition.
Many events take place here attracting tourists to visit.
The land is blessed by mother nature with an eye-catching beauty
Besides experiencing local cultural festivals, visitors can go horse riding or boating to see the scenery, with rental prices of about 20 CNY (70,000 VND) a day. With its poetic scenery, Sayram Lake attracts many visitors to take wedding photos and enjoy their honeymoon.
Sayram Lake is one of the four most beautiful lakes in Xinjiang, along with Kanas, Ulungur and Bostan Lakes. The entrance fee to visit the lake is 10 CNY (35,000 VND).
To get here, visitors can travel by domestic flights, lasting 4 hours from the capital Beijing to Urumqi city. There are about 14 flights connecting the two cities every day. After arriving in Urumqi, you can take a bus from Yining station, Jiefang Road to Sayram Lake. The trip will last about 3 hours.
