"The Arctic has been one of the world's most unique tourist destinations for many years, but there haven't been any beautiful and comfortable accommodations built there," explains Janne Honkanen, founder of Luxury Action, the travel company behind this ambitious project. "I wanted to create a more comfortable environment so that everyone could experience the Arctic, by bringing cozy accommodations into the harsh conditions there," he says.

Dù là địa điểm lý tưởng để phiêu lưu khám phá nhưng Bắc Cực là nơi rất khó tiếp cận

Despite being an ideal destination for adventure and exploration, the Arctic is very difficult to access.

For most of the year, the Arctic is considered "inaccessible." Only about 1,000 people make the journey to explore this region each year, often having to pitch their own tents and carry all the necessary equipment to stay safe in the icy environment. In stark contrast to this hardship, cozy igloos with private toilets, camp managers, Arctic guides, chefs, and security personnel are always available and ready to serve you when you sign up for a North Pole Igloos hotel package.

Tourists are almost guaranteed a chance to see the aurora borealis – an Arctic optical phenomenon that creates brilliant streaks of light across the night sky, appearing from approximately September to April.

The aurora borealis only appears between September and April.

As a mobile hotel model, instead of being in a fixed location on the Arctic glacier, the igloos will be moved to the "safest place" if weather conditions change.

Unsurprisingly, this spectacular adventure comes with a hefty price tag. You'll have to shell out €95,000 (approximately $105,000 USD, or 2.4 billion VND) for a three-day, three-night exploration of the Arctic. The trip includes a two-night stay in Svalbard, the border town between Norway and the Arctic Circle, flights to and from the Arctic, one night at the North Pole Igloos hotel, and all meals and a dedicated guide. Guests can also spend an additional few nights at the company's five-star Octola hotel in Lapland (Finland) for an extra fee.

While the primary goal is to allow visitors to experience the Arctic in a new and unique way, Honkanen also hopes that those staying at the North Pole Igloos hotel can act as "ambassadors" and help raise awareness about the impact of climate change in the region.

Tour du lịch trải nghiệm còn có mục đích nâng cao ý thức của con người về biến đổi khí hậu

Experiential tourism also aims to raise people's awareness of climate change.

"We're not just providing an experience, we want to spread awareness about what's happening. You'll see firsthand how the climate crisis is affecting local culture, food sources, and animals in the Arctic," Honkanen shared.

He also emphasized that his igloo hotel poses no threat to the Arctic environment. Everything they bring there will be returned to its original location, and the luxurious igloos will be packed up and shipped back to Svalbard at the end of the month.
