“Nightingale” Deni Hines performs at the Taste of Australia Gala

Singer Deni Hines, known as the "Australian nightingale", performed in Ho Chi Minh City at the Taste of Australia Gala event.

At the "Australian Food and Wine Journey" Gala at the Park Hyatt Saigon Hotel (HCMC) on May 10, delegates and guests were treated to a classy performance by Deni Hines with impressive jazz songs. Deni Hines had just attended a music festival in Queensland and immediately went to Vietnam to participate in the Taste of Australia 2019 event series.

Deni Hines, full name Dohnyale "Deni" Sharon Hines (born 4 September 1970), is an Australian solo artist who has been releasing music since the early 1990s, achieving chart success in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Europe. Deni Hines's prolific music career began with the release of her first single with the Australian rock band the Rockons, a cover of Bill Withers' 1971 hit "Ain't No Sunshine". Deni Hines then released the single "It's Alright" which reached the top 5 on the charts and the album Imagine (1996) which reached the top 20, selling over 55,000 copies worldwide. In 2007, Hines recorded a successful Jazz album with Australian Jazz artist James Morrison.

This year, the Taste of Australia event series has many interesting activities such as: BBQ for the community on May 5 at The Ocean Villas (Da Nang), Gala "Australian Culinary and Wine Journey" at Park Hyatt Saigon Hotel on May 10 in Ho Chi Minh City, a premium dinner for the public of Ho Chi Minh City on May 11 at Grain Cooking Studio (71 Hai Ba Trung, District 1), an outdoor movie screening with films about Australian cuisine on May 18 at the Australian Embassy in Hanoi...

The Taste of Australia 2019 event series will take place from May 5 to June 1. This is the fourth year the program has taken place in Vietnam and will be held in four cities: Hanoi, Da Nang, Nha Trang and Ho Chi Minh City.
