First held at Oskar Bar during a business trip to Thailand by Savills Hotels APAC Director Mauro Gasparotti, this networking event has achieved unexpected success and has since become a monthly event series dedicated to the resort real estate industry in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. Starting with only about 30 guests, after more than two years of operation in many cities in Vietnam and the region, the name Oscar Night has quickly become familiar to organizations and individuals working in the field, attracting hundreds of requests to attend each month.
Mr. Mauro Gasparotti - Director of Savills Hotels APAC
Mr. Mauro Gasparotti shared: "We organize the Oscar Night series of events to connect industry entities, allowing them to meet, update on market information, new trends, business conditions, and expand partnerships. Tourism, restaurants, and hotels are a large playing field where everyone needs to connect, share, and support each other to improve project and service quality, especially during challenging times like these. Collaboration is more important and necessary than ever."

Aiming to provide guests with a relaxing atmosphere after a long day at the office while maintaining a strong sense of hospitality, Savills Hotels Asia Pacific often organizes Oscar Night at popular city center locations such as hotel lounges, rooftops, or restaurants with sophisticated, modern, and professional ambiance. The main guests attending Oscar Night are General Managers (GMs) and hotel operations departments, investors, operators, as well as leading design, construction, and supply companies in the market.

To conclude a turbulent year for the tourism, restaurant, and hotel industry and welcome a new year with renewed hope, Oscar Night in January was successfully held at ROS Yacht Club - Dining & River Lounge with media support from Travellive, the Vietnam Hotel Association, the Vietnam Restaurant Association, and the Italian Trade Association in Vietnam.

The recent event attracted over 150 attendees from hotels in Ho Chi Minh City such as InterContinental Saigon, Sofitel Saigon Plaza, Caravelle Hotel Saigon, Liberty Saigon, Mia Saigon, representatives from hotels and resorts in Cam Ranh, Phu Quoc, and Vung Tau, yacht management and supply companies, and leading hotel consulting firms. Guests had the opportunity to discuss current business conditions, share interesting stories about the pandemic, and discuss strategies being implemented to overcome the crisis and future plans. More than just a typical networking event, Oscar Night became a platform for collaboration, fostering mutual support and creating a healthy environment for the Vietnamese resort market, which holds significant long-term potential and opportunities.

In parallel with the post-pandemic recovery process, Oscar Night in 2021 is expected to be organized and expanded to more provinces and cities to connect and build a community of individuals and organizations in Vietnam's hospitality industry.
