Mr. Nguyen Minh Tam - Director of Tam Dang Khoa Canoe Company (An Thoi Ward, Phu Quoc City) said that Vingroup and Sungroup have launched many million-dollar, grandiose, and elaborately invested shows to stimulate demand and attract tourists to Phu Quoc.
Currently, foreign tourists from China, Taiwan, Korea, Mongolia, etc. come to Phu Quoc to play and relax in large numbers. However, domestic tourists have not yet booked tours, and there are many routes during Tet, especially canoe tours to visit 4 islands in An Thoi ward.
"I prepared 12 canoes to serve tourists during the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin this year. But currently, the number of tourists booking the service is estimated to only reach about 50%. To attract customers, we apply promotions and attractive price incentives of 450,000 VND/person/tour of 4 islands, including shuttle bus and lunch on the island," said Mr. Tam.
Local tourism businesses in Phu Quoc still expect domestic tourists to come and celebrate Tet.
On the same day, Phu Quoc International Airport said that today there are about 30 flights bringing domestic and foreign tourists to Phu Quoc; about 28-30 ferries and speedboats from Rach Gia City and Ha Tien City to Phu Quoc City and vice versa.
"From the 2nd to the 6th of Tet, the unit welcomed more than 20 groups (15-20 people/group) of tourists booking tours to Phu Quoc. Due to the economic impact, I think domestic tourists are also calculating more carefully and choosing more convenient destinations.
We expect that during the Tet holidays, more domestic tourists will come to Phu Quoc to play" - Ms. Lam Kim Phuong, director of Vietravel Tourism Company Phu Quoc branch, informed.
