According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, during the recent holiday, the tourism industry organized many vibrant celebratory activities such as photo exhibitions commemorating the 78th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day on September 2nd, and the 78th anniversary of the Saigon Uprising to seize power (August 25, 1945 - August 25, 2023); art programs, fireworks displays; hot air balloon releases, etc. Along with tourism and shopping season promotion programs, these activities attracted a large number of local people and domestic and international tourists.
Ho Chi Minh City organized many lively activities to celebrate National Day and attract tourists.
During the four-day National Day holiday, the number of visitors to tourist attractions and entertainment venues in the city was estimated at approximately 960,000, an increase of 4.3% compared to the same period in 2022. Of these, the tour program to the headquarters of the People's Council and People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City attracted 65 groups with 1,614 visitors.
During this period, the number of domestic and international tourists visiting Ho Chi Minh City reached approximately 420,000 and 37,600 respectively, an increase of approximately 15% compared to the same period last year. The number of guests staying at accommodation establishments is estimated at around 162,000. Room occupancy is estimated at around 80%, an increase of 6.7% compared to the same period in 2022.
During the four-day holiday, Ho Chi Minh City's tourism industry is estimated to have earned approximately 2,890 billion VND, a 5.5% increase compared to the same period in 2022.

To continue attracting tourists, Ho Chi Minh City's tourism industry is focusing on preparing for the organization and reception of international delegations from many countries during the 2023 Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Fair (ITE-HCMC), which will take place from September 7-9. Simultaneously, the plan to welcome visitors to the headquarters of the People's Council and People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City will continue to be implemented until the end of 2023.
In 2023, the city aimed to welcome 5 million international tourists and over 35 million domestic tourists, generating total revenue of approximately 160,000 billion VND.
