According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, during the recent holidays, the tourism industry organized many exciting celebration activities such as photo exhibitions celebrating the 78th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2 and the 78th anniversary of the Saigon Uprising to seize power (August 25, 1945 - August 25, 2023); art programs, fireworks displays; hot air balloon releases, etc. Along with tourism stimulus programs, shopping season has attracted the participation of a large number of people and tourists at home and abroad.
Many activities to celebrate National Day and attract tourists are organized enthusiastically by Ho Chi Minh City.
During the 4-day National Day holiday, the number of visitors to tourist, entertainment and recreation areas in the area is estimated at about 960,000, an increase of 4.3% over the same period in 2022. Of which, the program to visit the headquarters of the People's Council - People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City attracted 65 groups with 1,614 visitors.
During this period, the number of domestic and international tourists to Ho Chi Minh City reached approximately 420,000 and 37,600, respectively, an increase of approximately 15% over the same period last year. The number of guests staying at accommodation establishments is estimated at approximately 162,000. Room occupancy is estimated at approximately 80%, an increase of 6.7% over the same period in 2022.
During the 4-day holiday, Ho Chi Minh City's tourism industry is estimated to earn about VND2,890 billion, an increase of 5.5% over the same period in 2022.

In order to continue activities to attract tourists, the Ho Chi Minh City tourism industry is focusing on preparing to organize and welcome international delegations from many countries to the City during the Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Fair (ITE-HCMC) 2023 taking place from September 7 to 9. At the same time, the plan to welcome visitors to the headquarters of the People's Council - People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City will continue to be implemented on Saturdays and Sundays of the last week of each month until the end of 2023.
In 2023, the city aims to welcome 5 million international visitors, more than 35 million domestic visitors, with total revenue of about 160,000 billion VND.
