The 50 km journey from the city center took me to Can Gio Mangrove Forest, a green destination for those who love nature and want to explore national history. Known by its full name as "Can Gio Biosphere Reserve", this forest covers an area of more than 75,000 hectares, covering the delta right at the mouth of the Saigon, Dong Nai and Vam Co rivers.
With the title of the first World Biosphere Reserve in Vietnam recognized by UNESCO, Can Gio Mangrove Forest has become a "green lung" in the heart of the city, a gathering place for valuable biodiversity of flora and fauna, including species listed in the Red Book.
The journey to discover Can Gio Mangrove Forest is not only about relaxing in the middle of nature but also an opportunity to step into the mysterious history of our ancestors.
The road through the mangrove forest to Sac Forest is so beautiful you'll forget the way back.
Treasure trove of rare flora and fauna in the biosphere
Can Gio Mangrove Forest is a world biosphere reserve, so it has an extremely rich fauna. This place is especially famous for its diverse reptile fauna, visitors can encounter pythons, crocodiles, monitor lizards, geckos... as well as learn about their interesting characteristics.

Not only is it a gathering place for animals, Sac Forest also makes a strong impression with its diverse vegetation. Mangrove trees such as white mangroves and white buds create an interesting landscape, an ideal habitat for many animal species. At the same time, brackish water trees such as o ro, rang, ban chua, and coconut leaves create a unique flora system, enriching the ecological picture of the forest.
Besides the diversity of flora and fauna, the fresh air of Sac Forest brings a wonderful experience to visitors. You will feel the fresh, cool air, a special place to relax and immerse yourself in the wild beauty of nature.

Experience trekking through the forest
The primeval forest with countless towering ancient trees, creating gentle shade, turns trekking in Sac Forest into an attractive destination for those who love to explore and conquer.
Don't forget to take care of your belongings to avoid the "mischief" of the monkeys here.
The tour guide took me and the group to Monkey Island, where thousands of mischievous monkeys are accustomed to welcoming visitors every day. They freely walk, play, and stand on the road, some are busy picking lice for each other, some are not afraid to approach visitors to ask for food and water.
We passed the bustling area with the monkeys and strolled leisurely on the picturesque path. The tall mangrove canopy spread its shadow like a vast dome, no sky to be seen, only the shimmering sunlight filtering through the leaves.
Trekking through the forest to listen to the "breathing" of nature.
The approximately 5 km trekking route challenges visitors with all terrains, from walking under the shade of trees to crossing the typical lagoons here. Visitors will be immersed in the music of birdsong, feel the breath of the wind rustling the leaves, and let their souls wander in the fresh, pristine air.
Journey "back to the source" visiting Sac Forest War Zone
During the years of resistance against the American colonialists, the Sac Forest base became an indispensable base. The brave battles, hundreds of large and small battles, made the enemy fear. Although time has passed, those heroic feats still exist and shine brightly in the hearts of each person, through each generation.
The Sac Forest War Zone is a place that recreates the difficult life of soldiers during wartime.
Thatched roof houses were where soldiers lived and worked in the past.
Tourists visiting the Can Gio Sac Forest relic site will be led through historical stories through the dedicated guidance of tour guides. I and other groups of visitors had the opportunity to admire models simulating the combat life of the special forces soldiers of Group 10. From the military hospital houses, information houses to the military weapons factory, every detail is faithfully recreated.

The tour is not only a journey back in time, but also an opportunity for each visitor to preserve beautiful memories and respect for the heroes of the nation. When coming to Can Gio, do not forget to visit this "green lung", cool yourself in nature with the sweet stream of historical stories of our ancestors.
