Recently, the famous apartment rental application launched the Live Anywhere With Airbnb program, looking for volunteers to participate. Accordingly, 12 lucky people will travel the world within a year. The task of the selected people is to live and experience apartments around the world and give reviews to help Airbnb improve its services and applications in the future.
The data provided by volunteers will be used by Airbnb to shape its products and resources to improve long-term accommodation services. From there, Airbnb can ideal accommodations for solo travelers or those traveling with family and friends as well as understand the financial benefits for homeowners when listing apartments for rent on this application.
In return, volunteers will be fully sponsored for accommodation and transportation during the journey. Airbnb also suggests that participants can rent out their current apartment while away from home to earn extra income.
Airbnb says the program is based on the growing popularity of long-term rentals on the platform. According to Airbnb research, the number of people looking to rent for 28 days or more increased by 10% from 2019 to 2021.
“The Airbnb Live Anywhere program will give more people the opportunity to see the world through a different lens. We look forward to seeing people freely choose and change where they live and work,” said an Airbnb representative.
Travelers who want to join Airbnb's program can visit the app's website and sign up. Everyone is eligible, whether you are a home worker, an older couple, or a young family. The eligibility requirements are that applicants must be over 18 years old and be able to travel continuously for 12 months from July 2021 to July 2022. Airbnb will provide necessary information such as accommodation and local culture before each trip. Each applicant can bring up to three companions on a year-long trip.
