The young king is renting out his palace on Airbnb.

This luxurious royal suite, known as the Gudliya Suite, is located within the Palace City – a royal palace built in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. For over 300 years, this palace has served as the residence of the royal family of Jaipur (Rajasthan, India).

The current owner of this palace, Maharaja Padmanabh Singh, a descendant of Singh II, recently decided to rent out the Gudliya Suite on Airbnb for $7,983 per night (approximately 186 million VND), starting November 23, 2019. This also makes Padmanabh Singh the first monarch to appear on Airbnb as a homeowner.

The Gudliya Suite is located in a separate area of ​​the Imperial Palace and includes a living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and indoor swimming pool. Inside, the suite boasts a luxurious interior with crystal chandeliers, gilded wall decorations, and exquisite carvings. Guests will receive airport transfers, guided tours of the palace, and opportunities to admire valuable collections and decorations at the grand museum located within the palace grounds.

During their stay, guests will have a private butler to attend to all their needs. Those wishing to explore more of the city will also have a guide to create customized tours. Guests' breakfasts and dinners will be royal meals served at the Baradari restaurant on the palace's private terrace, where they can admire panoramic views of the Aravalli hills along with beautiful peacocks.

Because of its opulence, the room was previously used only to welcome royalty and special guests from around the world, such as the late Princess Diana, former US President Bill Clinton, media mogul Oprah Winfrey, and the late US First Lady Jackie Kennedy...

Renting a royal suite on Airbnb at an exorbitant price might sound unbelievable, but the best part is that all proceeds from each booking go to the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation – a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting rural women and artisans in Rajasthan. This is a truly meaningful gesture from the young King Padmanabh Singh to the women of his homeland.

At age 21, Singh possesses a fortune of $2.8 billion and leads an enviable life. He is the 30th-generation descendant of the Indian royal family. Singh's mother is Princess Diya Kumari, a politician and member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. At age 13, Singh inherited the throne from his maternal grandfather as his mother was the only child, becoming the last "king" of Jaipur when Indian legislators ceased recognizing royal titles.

Born into a wealthy royal family, Singh always understood his responsibilities and saw himself as an ambassador for the city of Jaipur. As a young monarch educated in developed countries, Singh was deeply concerned about women's empowerment in India and actively advocated for educational programs for women and girls in his homeland.
