In October, the Indian low-cost airline IndiGo will launch direct flights from Kolkata (India) to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. This will reduce travel time from Kolkata to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to just 3-3.5 hours.

Specifically, the direct flight from Kolkata to Hanoi will launch on October 3rd, while the direct flight from Kolkata to Ho Chi Minh City will launch on October 18th.

In 2018, the number of Indian tourists visiting Vietnam reached over 131,000, an increase of 21%. In the first seven months of this year, Vietnam welcomed approximately 88,500 visitors from India, an increase of over 19.9% ​​compared to the same period last year.

Willia Boulter, the airline's CEO, assessed Vietnam as one of the most promising untapped markets. "We see an increasing demand from tourists for Hanoi, as it is a region that combines economic, cultural, and architectural elements of Southeast Asia and France," he stated.
