Accordingly, for passengers of Vietnamese nationality under 14 years old, the airline will accept the passports of their biological parents, adoptive parents, or guardians; the personal identification confirmation form is not required, the content of the authorization letter from parents or guardians for children is omitted; and a legal representative does not need to accompany the child to complete airline procedures.
The new regulations eliminate the need for a personal identification confirmation form and remove the requirement for a power of attorney from parents or guardians for children under 14 years old.
For Vietnamese passengers aged 14 and above, various identification documents may be used, including: national identity card, police officer's identity card, journalist's card, Vietnamese driver's license (car or motorcycle), and identification cards issued by Vietnamese airlines.
In cases where passengers use a personal identification certificate issued by the local police station in their permanent or temporary residence, the new regulations will no longer issue a specific certificate form. Instead, only the following information will be required: the issuing authority, the person issuing the certificate, date of birth, gender, place of origin, permanent residence, and reason for the certificate. Passengers should note that such certificates must have a photograph attached, a seal affixed, and are only valid for 30 days from the date of issuance.
These changes could shorten the time users spend preparing paperwork and checking in at the airport.
The new regulations of the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority also remove the requirement that foreign passports or travel documents, separate visas, permanent residence cards, and temporary residence cards issued by Vietnam must bear Vietnamese entry and exit stamps as stipulated.
Therefore, according to the new guidelines, preparing the necessary documents and procedures for boarding a plane will be simpler and faster. For travel enthusiasts, this is certainly good news, eliminating the need to worry so much about paperwork and check-in procedures.
