The reason for this decision is the issue of battery safety concerns for this laptop model. Not only is the 15-inch MacBook Pro banned as carry-on baggage, but it is also strictly prohibited to ship it as cargo. Passengers who intentionally violate this regulation may be refused boarding and subject to penalties. This decision was made by the Federal Aviation Administration based on recall notice 19-152 from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) ban on its transport.
According to a request from the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority, airlines need to inform all agents and ticket offices and develop control procedures and security questions for passengers during check-in to comply with this regulation.

The Civil Aviation Authority also requires airlines to develop procedures for coordinating with passengers and relevant parties in handling computers that are discovered and prohibited from being transported, to avoid the loss of passengers' property.
During the flight, if the flight crew notices a passenger carrying and using a 15-inch MacBook Pro with a recalled battery, they must immediately instruct the passenger to follow the following instructions: turn off the computer, do not charge the battery, and comply with the airline's established response procedures.
