ANA has been named the world's cleanest airline.

18/03/2019

Skytrax, a UK-based aviation consulting and rating group, has just published its list of the world's cleanest airlines for 2018, and ANA (All Nippon Airways), Japan's largest airline, topped the list.

The Skytrax awards are highly prestigious and are often referred to as the Oscars of the aviation industry. Skytrax compiles its rankings based on direct passenger reviews of service quality, staff professionalism, and entertainment systems offered by airlines worldwide. Surprisingly, not a single US airline made the list, despite the country being considered a major aviation power.

When a traveler boards a flight, they know that many passengers before them have sat in their seat, touched the screen they used, and may even have placed their sweaty hands on the armrest of their seat. Therefore, it's not surprising that some recent studies have estimated that up to 20% of passengers on commercial flights will develop a respiratory infection within a week of flying.

You can protect yourself by washing your hands with disinfectant and using disinfectant wipes. And you'll feel more at ease if you choose a clean airline to fly with.
