Edelweiss will operate direct flights connecting Zurich and Ho Chi Minh City twice a week using A340-300 aircraft. The new route will make it easier and more convenient for tourists from Switzerland and other European countries to travel to Vietnam. Bernd Bauer, CEO of Edelweiss, stated, “Vietnam is a popular tourist destination with many recreational activities that are already well-known to Swiss travelers.”
Tourists from Switzerland tend to have longer holidays and spend more than those from other countries. Each year, the airline expects to transport approximately 10,500 tourists to Ho Chi Minh City, generating significant revenue."It generated over 32 million US dollars."
Besides connecting tourists from Switzerland and Europe to Vietnam, the new route also allows passengers to fly directly from Ho Chi Minh City.Minh arrived in Europe with many connecting flight options from Zurich and destinations on Swiss International Air Lines' global network.

The new route will be operated using Airbus A340-300 aircraft with a capacity of 314 passengers. Business class has 27 lie-flat seats and is equipped with a modern entertainment system with HD touchscreens. Max Premium Economy class hasThe 76 seats offer ample space and an extra 6 inches of legroom, reclining seats, and other amenities. Economy class has 211 seats equipped with an entertainment system with screens.
HD touchscreens are designed to provide passengers with a comfortable flight experience.
