This is a meaningful activity aimed at honoring traditional cultural values, promoting the image of Hue tourism, and spreading the message of environmental protection and the development of green and sustainable tourism.
The program took place on Sunday morning, July 5th, 2026, at the square in front of Hue National High School for the Gifted, with the participation of over 200 people, including representatives from the Hue City People's Committee; officials and staff from various departments and agencies; the Hue City Tourism Association; the Hue Imperial City Relics Conservation Center; the Women Entrepreneurs Association; the Ao Dai Association; local authorities; and many businesses operating in the tourism sector in the city.

Dressed in traditional ao dai (Vietnamese long dress), the cycling group started from the square in front of Hue National High School for the Gifted, following the route: Le Loi Street - Cau Ga Bridge - Bui Thi Xuan Street - Da Vien Bridge - Le Duan Street - Tran Hung Dao Street - Truong Tien Bridge - Le Loi Street and returning to the starting point.
The journey of these vibrant ao dai dresses through the many architectural landmarks and characteristic landscapes of Hue creates beautiful images amidst the heritage space along the romantic Perfume River.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Duong Thi Thu Truyen, Deputy Director of the Hue City Department of Tourism, said that the activity was organized to celebrate the Traditional Day of the Vietnamese Tourism Industry and the Hue Ao Dai Week 2026, while also honoring the value of the Vietnamese Ao Dai, promoting the image of Hue tourism, and spreading the message about environmental protection, encouraging the use of environmentally friendly means of transportation, and aiming for green and sustainable tourism development.
According to Ms. Duong Thi Thu Truyen, Hue is a land rich in historical and cultural traditions, preserving many unique values of the nation. Among them, the ao dai (Vietnamese traditional dress) is not only a traditional garment but also a symbol of Vietnamese beauty, identity, and soul. With its unique values, Hue is gradually establishing itself as the "Hue - Capital of Ao Dai," contributing to bringing the image of Hue culture closer to friends both domestically and internationally.

Through the activity of cycling in traditional Vietnamese ao dai dresses on the streets, the Organizing Committee hopes to create beautiful images of an elegant, friendly, safe, and culturally rich Hue; while also spreading the message of a green lifestyle, raising awareness of environmental protection, preserving urban landscapes, and building a sustainable tourist destination.
With the participation of agencies, units, businesses, social organizations, the ao dai-loving community, and a large number of local people and tourists, the "Cycling for the Environment with the theme Ao Dai through the streets in 2026" program promises to become a highlight of Hue Ao Dai Week 2026, further promoting the image of Hue - a heritage city, a green city, and the capital of Ao Dai - to friends both domestically and internationally.
