The tourism industry has been forced to quickly adapt to the significant changes and challenges caused by the spread of Covid-19 this year. The latest example is Viking Cruises, the first company to announce Covid-19 testing services on board. According to Viking, the trial on its ocean-going vessels can accommodate 930 passengers using a non-invasive testing method.

It's possible that the lounge chairs at luxury swimming pools will soon be converted into waiting areas for testing.
“We’ve been researching this for months, and today is a very important day. Continuous PCR testing, along with onboard hygiene procedures, will help Viking take another step toward resuming cruise operations without compromising the safety of passengers and crew,” said Matt Grimes, Viking’s Vice President of Maritime Operations, on the day the testing lab was announced.
