If you're looking to admire breathtaking natural scenery, Dubai certainly won't satisfy you. But if you want to witness the marvels of human ingenuity in transforming a land that "had nothing" into one that "lacked nothing," you absolutely cannot overlook Dubai in your travel plans. Dubai's efforts to put itself on the world map are exemplified by a series of Guinness World Record-breaking constructions.
A skyscraper makes it difficult for tourists to take photos of the top of the tower.
The Burj Khalifa tower is also considered a symbol of modern Dubai.
Among them, the most famous remains the Burj Khalifa. Since its inauguration in 2010, standing at 828 meters tall in the heart of Dubai, it has been recognized as the world's tallest building, far surpassing the previous record held by Taipei 101 (509.2 meters). Twelve years have passed since then, and no other tower has surpassed this record. The Burj Khalifa is also considered a symbol of modern Dubai, marking its transformation from an economy dependent on oil to one focused on tourism.
For the best photos, head to the Dubai Mall (the world's largest shopping mall) in the evening to watch the water fountain show at the foot of the Burj Khalifa. The show starts at 6 PM and continues every half hour. To capture the entire height of the tower, set your phone to Panorama mode.
Transform the desert into a garden of vibrant flowers.

Despite being a sun-drenched desert region with one of the harshest summers, Dubai has amazed the world with another record: the world's largest flower garden, called Miracle Garden. True to its name, this garden is a miracle in the heart of the desert, holding two more Guinness World Records: the world's largest floral model, a replica of an Emirates Airbus A380 aircraft made of nearly 5 million flowers; and the world's largest Mickey Mouse floral model (weighing 35 tons and standing 18 meters tall). However, due to the extreme heat, the garden closes during the summer and only reopens around October each year to welcome tourists. Remember to keep this in mind when planning your trip.
The only artificial island visible from satellite.
Dubai also boasts another magnificent structure that cannot be overlooked: The Palm Jumeirah, the world's largest artificial island. They used millions of tons of sand and stone to build it in just six years. This island is also known as the Palm Islands because its shape is based on the palm tree, one of the symbols of the desert region.

On January 21, 2023, Atlantis The Royal, the world's most luxurious resort system, officially opened on Palm Island. Beyoncé chose this location for her official comeback performance after a five-year hiatus, coinciding with the grand opening. David and Victoria Beckham are also reportedly the owners of a seven-bedroom villa with a private beach on Palm Island, estimated to be worth $1.6 million.
To admire the panoramic view of the Palm Islands, visit View at the Palm located on the 52nd floor of the Nakheel Mall. After purchasing a ticket, a guide will take you to the exhibition area to learn about the formation and construction of the Palm Islands, then you'll take the elevator up to the 52nd floor. This is the best place to take stunning panoramic photos of the famous Palm Jumeirah artificial island.

If the British are proud of the London Eye, the people of Dubai have a Dubai Eye that's almost twice as big.
The 2021 Guinness World Record recognizes another new location in Dubai: the Ain Dubai (Dubai Eye), the world's largest Ferris wheel, located in the newly constructed Bluewaters Islands. This is the world's tallest and largest Ferris wheel, reaching a height of 250 meters, almost double the height of the famous London Eye. It was built over eight years using 11,200 tons of steel, more than 33% of the steel used to build the Eiffel Tower (Paris). If all the cabins are fully enclosed, the Ferris wheel can hold up to 1,750 people at once. However, if you're afraid of heights, you don't need to go on the Ferris wheel; the Bluewaters Islands alone are full of restaurants, entertainment venues, and beautiful scenery for you to enjoy.
In fact, we can't list all the Guinness World Records that Dubai holds in just one article, as they currently have 339 records, and they add another number every year. However, these are the most famous places that you definitely shouldn't miss when visiting Dubai.
