According to information from the German Tourism Board, the country has abolished the 3G law. Specifically, this law required tourists to present a certificate of full vaccination, a certificate of recovery from Covid-19, or a negative test result before entry. Germany now allows tourists from all over the world to travel without having to bring these documents.
In addition, Germany has begun to ease its mask-wearing requirements. Currently, travelers are only required to wear masks when using public transport such as airplanes, trains, subways, and buses.
Many European countries have lifted lockdown measures. Italy and Cyprus had previously implemented some of the strictest Covid-19 quarantine laws, but both countries have lifted them all, retaining only the requirement to wear masks in public.
Germany does not require tourists to present any documents related to Covid-19.
In March, the UK opened its borders to tourists without requiring proof of being free from Covid-19. Other countries across Europe, including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Lithuania, Serbia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Sweden, and Switzerland, did the same.
Additionally, as of May 21st, all Americans, regardless of vaccination status, can visit Spain as the country has lifted the vaccination requirement (although unvaccinated travelers must present a negative Covid-19 test result before departure).
