Rob McMillan, founder of Silicon Valley Bank's Wine Division and author of the annual wine industry report, predicts that American wine consumers will enjoy "the best retail wine prices in 20 years."
Currently, wine consumption in the U.S. has declined for the first time in 25 years, as many Americans switch to spirits and pre-mixed cocktails. At the same time, a sharp increase in grape production in California has led to a surplus of grapes being sent to the secondary market for brandy or grape concentrate, but these markets often don't offer sustainable profits for growers. McMillan stated that Californian grape growers will have to cut back on mass production of their vines and "it will take at least two to three years for grape prices to stabilize again." McMillan hopes that lower wine prices will boost consumer purchasing power in the near future.

The vineyards in Napa Valley (California, USA) are world-renowned for their exceptional quality and breathtaking scenery.
Napa Valley in California (USA) is home to some of the world's leading wine producers, recognized by experts since 1976 when a Napa Valley wine beat a French wine, winning first prize at the Paris Wine Tasting competition. It's also a fantastic tourist destination for wine enthusiasts, with its lush, neatly arranged vineyards laden with fruit stretching as far as the eye can see, as well as unique experiences like trampling grapes, making wine, and tasting wine.

Visitors to Napa Valley shouldn't miss these exciting wine experiences.
Napa Valley wines are more famous than those from other wine-producing regions like Sonoma Valley or Santa Barbara Valley. For wine connoisseurs worldwide, Napa Valley is considered a must-visit destination at least once in a lifetime. In Napa Valley, visitors will find over 300 different wineries, from the oldest American winery, Robert Mondavi Winery, to American wines in partnership with French winery Domaine Chandon… Locals say the first vines were planted in the valley in 1836 by farmer George Calvert Yount. Besides the large wineries, Napa Valley also boasts many smaller wineries, whose products are also well worth trying.
The cost to sample wines in Napa ranges from $15-20 per place, with higher prices for premium wines. You can also purchase a wine tasting pass for $30 to sample wines at all the wine shops in the area.
