In order to stimulate tourism and serve people's travel needs during the summer, the railway industry has launched a ticket discount program of up to 40% depending on the time of ticket purchase, train brand and seat type. The program is applied from July 1, 2020 to August 16, 2020.
Specifically, for the Thong Nhat passenger train pairs SE3/4, SE7/8 (Saigon - Hanoi) when buying tickets with a travel distance of over 900 km and the train pair SE21/22 (Saigon - Da Nang) when buying tickets with a travel distance of over 600 km, passengers who buy tickets 20 days or more before the departure date will receive a discount of 20% to 40% of the ticket price (except for the 4-berth sleeper cabin of train SE3).
For the SQN1/2 passenger train (Saigon - Quy Nhon), when buying tickets for a distance of over 400 km and the SNT1/2 train (Saigon - Nha Trang), when buying tickets for a distance of over 300 km, passengers who buy tickets 20 days or more before the departure date will receive a discount of 20% to 30% of the ticket price (except for the 4-berth sleeper cabin of the SNT1/2 train).
As for the SPT1/2 train (Saigon - Phan Thiet), passengers who buy tickets 10 days or more before departure will receive a 10% discount on the ticket price. Note that passengers who want to change or return tickets will have to pay a fee of 10-50% of the ticket price (depending on the trip), and the ticket exchange time must be at least 72 hours before the train departure time. As for the SPT1/2 train, the ticket exchange time must be at least 24 hours before the train departure time, and the ticket return time must be at least 4 hours before the train departure time.
Notably, passengers buying group tickets with a number of 5 people or more will receive a discount of 2% to 14% on the ticket price. Passengers buying round-trip tickets will receive a discount of 7% to 10% on the return ticket price.
In addition, travel companies that signed a stimulus agreement with Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company in 2020 will also receive a 10% to 25% discount on ticket prices, applicable to groups of 10 to 100 people. Similarly, tour guides will also receive a 90% discount on ticket prices for seats or berths in a 6-berth cabin, applicable to 1 to 3 tour guides depending on the number of guests.
Previously, Hanoi Railway Transport Joint Stock Company also applied preferential train ticket price policy for union members of industries, corporations, enterprises and localities nationwide. Accordingly, this unit reduced 5% for individual ticket price; reduced 7% for groups of 10 to 39 people and reduced 10% for groups of 40 people or more.
