Since 2016, more than 400,000 passengers have been carried by Emirates on this route, adding to the more than 1.25 million passengers who have flown with Emirates on flights to and from Ho Chi Minh City since 2012.
Emirates’ revenue growth in the Vietnam market also outpaced passenger growth by 24%, demonstrating improved customer engagement over the past year. The brand’s products and services have contributed to the high perception of the value of the experience that Emirates provides. With integrated in-flight entertainment, a range of convenient airport services for customers and a comprehensive loyalty program called “Skywards”, Emirates has gradually raised the level of service and enhanced the quality of the journey for passengers, from the moment of booking the flight until landing at the final destination.
Emirates Airlines has grown dramatically, becoming the favorite airline of many Vietnamese passengers.
Haitham Al Battawy, Emirates Country Manager for Vietnam, said: “Emirates has grown significantly since launching operations in Vietnam in 2012, becoming the preferred airline for many Vietnamese passengers. We are committed to providing our customers with more choice, flexibility, convenience and excellent connectivity to the world through our global hub in Dubai.”
He also emphasized that Vietnam is currently an important market for Emirates, with resounding success since 2012. Up to now, Emirates has carried 1.7 million passengers from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Emirates is proud to operate daily direct flights from these two cities to Dubai and continue from Dubai to 155 other destinations in 85 countries and territories, meeting the growing travel and cargo needs of the Vietnamese market."
In addition to passenger services, Emirates Skycargo cargo services have also played an important role in bringing Vietnamese goods to the world and promoting trade and manufacturing in the country, with around 65,000 tonnes of cargo exported from Hanoi, including electronic products such as mobile phones and other devices, in the past five years. More than 50,000 tonnes of cargo were transported between the two countries in the 2017/18 financial year, an increase of nearly 21% compared to the previous year.
Emirates will continue to focus on developing opportunities for the Vietnamese market, helping the market reach its target of welcoming 20 million international passengers per year by 2020. Recently, the airline also signed a memorandum of understanding with tourism and trade agencies in Ho Chi Minh City, to promote tourism, improve cultural exchanges, encourage trade and investment in the cargo transportation service sector.
Emirates also offers young talents in the country the opportunity to explore new horizons and experience a professional international working environment. Currently, Emirates is the workplace of 180 Vietnamese nationals, including 114 cabin crew members and 36 ground staff.
