Since 2016, Emirates has carried over 400,000 passengers on this route, in addition to the more than 1.25 million passengers who have flown with Emirates on routes to or from Ho Chi Minh City since 2012.
Emirates' revenue growth in the Vietnamese market also exceeded customer growth by 24%, demonstrating improved customer engagement over the past year. The brand's products and services have contributed to reinforcing the high level of awareness of the value and experience that Emirates provides. With its integrated in-flight entertainment system, a range of convenient airport services, and a comprehensive "Skywards" loyalty program, Emirates has progressively elevated its service standards and enhanced the quality of the passenger journey, from the moment of booking to landing at the final destination.
Emirates Airlines has experienced spectacular growth, becoming a favorite airline for many Vietnamese passengers.
Mr. Haitham Al Battawy, General Manager of Emirates in Vietnam, said: “Since commencing operations in Vietnam in 2012, Emirates has experienced spectacular growth, becoming a favorite airline for many Vietnamese passengers. We are committed to providing our customers with more choices, as well as ensuring flexibility, convenience and excellent connectivity to the world through our global hub network in Dubai.”
He also emphasized that Vietnam is currently an important market for Emirates, with resounding success since 2012. To date, Emirates has carried 1.7 million passengers departing from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Emirates is proud to operate daily direct flights from these two cities to Dubai and onward from Dubai to 155 other destinations in 85 countries and territories, meeting the growing travel and cargo needs of the Vietnamese market.”
In addition to passenger services, Emirates Skycargo's cargo services also play a significant role in bringing Vietnamese goods to the world and boosting domestic trade and production, with approximately 65,000 tons of goods exported from Hanoi, including electronic products such as mobile phones and other equipment, over the past five years. More than 50,000 tons of goods were transported between the two countries in the 2017/18 financial year, an increase of nearly 21% compared to the previous year.
Emirates will continue to focus on developing opportunities for the Vietnamese market, helping it achieve its target of welcoming 20 million international visitors annually by 2020. Recently, the airline also signed a memorandum of understanding with relevant agencies in the tourism and trade sectors in Ho Chi Minh City to promote tourism, improve cultural exchange, encourage trade, and attract investment in the cargo transportation services sector.
Emirates also provides young Vietnamese talents with the opportunity to explore new horizons and experience a professional international working environment. Currently, Emirates employs 180 Vietnamese citizens, including 114 flight crew members and 36 ground staff.
