05/08/2024

"Facing Infinity" is the title of a performance that combines traditional elements such as Vietnamese opera, folk performances (e.g., spirit mediumship), and collective movements in memory and the past with hip hop culture and electronic music.

The performance was created by a group of Vietnamese and Dutch artists, choreographer Tú Hoàng, and the studios Lên Ngàn and XplusX. The project also received sponsorship from the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports and several other independent departments and organizations.

Facing the infinite, revolving around the theme of self-discovery, but without a specific story, the play uses metaphors and conventional expressions to evoke personal reflection. The first run of performances will take place from August 2-4 at the Hong Ha Theater – the "sacred place" of the Vietnam Traditional Opera Theatre – located at 51 Duong Thanh Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi. Updates on subsequent performances will be provided via the play's fan page and studios.
