Retail sales in the first 6 months of the year of Ranger reached 63,525 units, up 21% compared to the same period last year.

Impressive monthly sales have helped the Ford Ranger achieve record sales in the first half of 2017 in Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. The Ford Ranger has become the best-selling pickup truck in many markets such as Vietnam, Taiwan, Cambodia and New Caledonia, and is also the most popular car product in the island nation of New Zealand. “Ranger sales continue to grow as customers look for a versatile vehicle that can meet their diverse needs for work and leisure,” said Mark Ovenden, vice president, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford Asia Pacific.
“The Ranger is a combination of advanced technology, modern design, impressive fuel economy and comfort. It is everything consumers expect in a pickup truck. The superiority of the Ranger is the basis for us to expect sales of this vehicle line to continue to grow in the future,” said Mr. Mark Ovenden.

Ranger sales in Australia led the Asia-Pacific region, recording a 19% increase in sales in the first half of 2017, equivalent to 21,638 vehicles delivered to customers. Ranger sales contributed to affirming Ford's leading position in the 4x4 truck segment.
In New Zealand, the Ranger continued to be the best-selling vehicle, outpacing its rivals with 4,980 vehicles sold, reaching a record growth of 24% in the first half of 2017.
With 20,230 units sold in Thailand in the first 6 months of the year, Ranger sales here also had an impressive leap with a growth of 51% compared to the same period last year, accounting for 11.7% of the car market in this country. Customer demand for all versions of Ranger has promoted the continuous growth of Ford's pickup truck sales. Ford's sales report in the Philippines shows that 4,596 Ranger units were sold, equivalent to a growth of 16%, helping Ford capture 25% of the pickup truck market in this country.
Ranger continues to lead the truck segment in Vietnam for the fourth consecutive year as sales in the first half of 2017 increased by nearly 2% with 6,985 Ranger units delivered to customers. The steady growth has helped Ford Ranger capture 57% of the pickup truck segment market in Vietnam.
In Taiwan, Ranger continued to maintain impressive sales in the segment with a 29% year-on-year growth, driven by customer demand for a versatile vehicle that can be used for work as well as other activities. In addition, Ford Ranger continued to maintain its position as the top pick-up in many potential markets such as Cambodia and New Caledonia, becoming the most popular pickup truck in these countries.
