The church is impressive, covered in a sweet, vibrant shade of pink.
Tan Dinh Church, also known as the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, is likened to a striking pink castle on the bustling Hai Ba Trung street. It is one of the most beautiful religious buildings in the city, construction of which began in 1870 and was completed on December 16, 1876, making it nearly 150 years old.
Tan Dinh Church is located at 289 Hai Ba Trung Street, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City.
Overall, the church features a Gothic style combined with Romanesque elements, with a touch of Baroque in its decorative details. In 1929, the church complex was renovated, expanding the sanctuary and adding a 52.6-meter-high tower. In December 1976, on the occasion of its centenary, the church was again restored, raising the altar platform and repainting the bell tower. The pink paint and white decorative patterns make the entire structure stand out against the blue sky, creating a magnificent and fresh appearance.
The Gothic style is combined with Romanesque elements, with a touch of Baroque in the exterior decorations of the church.
Viewed from the front of the church, the main tower and two smaller towers are visible. At the top of the towers is an octagonal spire with a 3-meter-high bronze cross. Inside the towers are five bells, weighing a total of 5.5 tons. On either side of the smaller towers are lamp towers with numerous ventilation holes and ornate carvings, giving the structure a sturdy appearance. Two rows of vaulted corridors, covered with fish-scale tiles, feature round windows with floral decorations and exquisitely crafted angel statues.
At the top of the 52.6-meter-high main tower is a 3-meter-tall bronze cross. Inside are five bells, with a total weight of 5.5 tons.

The altars in the cathedral are made from precious stones imported from Italy.
The interior of the cathedral is quite grand, with two rows of Gothic columns leading to the main altar. Along with the facade, these two rows of columns are considered among the most beautiful features of the entire architectural work. The left-hand row of columns features statues of female saints, while the right-hand row features statues of male saints. The remaining altars in the cathedral are made from precious stones imported from Italy.

In mid-2020, the American travel magazine CNTraveler published a list of the "Top 10 Most Beautiful Pink Destinations in the World," and Tan Dinh Church, with its unique architecture and striking color, was honored to be included in this ranking. In 2019, District 3 of Ho Chi Minh City was ranked 18th out of 20 "World's Coolest Neighborhoods in 2019" by the global magazine Time Out. One of the factors contributing to District 3 achieving this title is the popularity of its landmarks, including the pink Tan Dinh Church, which are frequently visited by tourists.
To date, this place has become a popular spot for international tourists and city residents to check in and take artistic photos thanks to its sweet and vibrant pink color scheme.
CHRISTMAS 2021 Program:
As usual, Tan Dinh Church held its Christmas celebration over two days, December 24th and 25th, 2021.
- On December 24th, Christmas Eve services I, II, and III were held at three different times: 5:30 PM, 7:00 PM, and 9:00 PM.
- On December 25th, Christmas celebrations will be held at 6:15 AM, 5:30 PM, and 7:00 PM.
