Since its launch in December 2022, the Asia Architecture Design Awards (AADA) has received significant attention from architects, designers, and organizations of all sizes in the industry, with hundreds of projects and entries submitted from countries across Asia.
According to preliminary statistics from the organizing committee, approximately 325 applications have been submitted so far, including many outstanding projects from India, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and the Philippines. These are all countries experiencing strong development in infrastructure and architecture. Each country has its own unique cultural and architectural characteristics, creating diversity within the Asian Architecture Awards.

Dylan Yip, Deputy General Director for Strategy at the Asia Awards Organization (AAO), the host of AADA, said: “We were not surprised to receive applications from India, Thailand, and Vietnam. These countries have recently experienced rapid infrastructure development and have emerged with many iconic projects. However, we were impressed by the large number of applications, demonstrating their interest in international awards – as a way to seek professional recognition and bring their country's name to the world.”
According to Dylan Yip, the most applications were concentrated in the categories of Architectural Design, Resort and Hotel Design, and Commercial Interior Design. In the Residential Architecture category, India dominated with many projects blending religious elements with modern technology. Thailand stood out in the Commercial Interior Design category with projects such as museums, amusement parks, and car showrooms. Vietnam had many projects in the resort, hotel, and office building categories.
In addition, the Organizing Committee also noted many entries from Singapore in categories such as Best Landscape Architecture, Best Commercial Building Architecture, etc. Many projects showcased Singapore's creative thinking and advanced technological strengths, contributing to improving the quality of life by optimizing health, safety, convenience, and efficiency.
Architect Tan Quee Peng, Director of Green Mark, General Director of RSP Vietnam - professional advisor and judge of the 2023 Asian Architecture Awards, said: “I am very pleased that AADA has received great attention from emerging architectural fields in Asia, reflecting this year's theme of AADA: “Impactful Asia – For a Breakthrough Asia”. AADA is a fair competition, with transparent criteria and impartiality from reputable professionals in the region. I believe AADA will contribute to honoring creativity, promoting progress, and bringing practical value to individuals, organizations, businesses, and the community.”
