Located in the northeast of Catalonia, Girona is a small city in Spain, attracting tourists by its gentle, pure, quiet features, along with a nostalgic atmosphere that makes this place extremely peaceful, quiet and makes you forget the hustle and bustle of urban life.

In its rich history, Girona has been besieged 25 times and was subject to the French royal army seven times. The city's defensive walls were demolished in the late 19th century to allow for expansion. In recent years the eastern walls of the city have been rebuilt, known as de Passeig la Muralla, forming a tourist route around the old city.

Start your walk around this small, pretty town, which is like a dike, and you will see the old wall that runs along the picturesque Onyar River. The Onyar River is crossed by many bridges – but the most beautiful and visited bridge is the Eiffel Bridge, also known as Pont de Ferro.

The oldest church in the city was built by the Moors as a mosque and today is one of the most important monuments of the Majorcan Jaume Fabre school of architecture and a fine example of Spanish Gothic architecture. The church contains the tombs of Ramon Berenger and his wife.

The Church of Sant Feliu is another church worth seeing and visiting here. It is a 14th century Gothic style church and has one of the tallest and oldest spires in Spain.
