To prevent the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak, Hanoi City Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung requested the temporary suspension of all trade fairs, supply and demand promotion activities, festivals, bars, etc., starting from the evening of July 29th.

The directive was issued by the Chairman of Hanoi at a meeting of the city's Steering Committee for COVID-19 prevention and control on the afternoon of July 29. Hanoi issued this request based on the conclusions of the Prime Minister at the Standing Committee meeting of the Government on COVID-19 prevention and control on the morning of July 29.

Accordingly, Hanoi will officially temporarily suspend all trade fairs, supply and demand promotion activities, festivals, bars, etc., from the evening of July 29th. Currently, Hanoi has recorded over 21,000 people returning from Da Nang, of which 87 cases showed symptoms of cough and fever and had to be tested.

Besides "Patient 447," Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung said the city has a second suspected case, also returning from Da Nang. This is a 76-year-old man residing on Hoang Hoa Tham Street, Tay Ho District. He went to Da Nang for a visit in mid-July. On July 21-22, he went for a check-up at Da Nang Hospital C, then returned to Hanoi and resumed normal activities without symptoms. Upon learning about the screening of cases returning from Da Nang, on the morning of July 29, he went to the Central Tropical Diseases Hospital 2 to have a sample taken for testing and received a positive result for Covid-19.
