Vietnam has five destinations among the top 20 travel destinations in the world in 2020.

Thanks to effective pandemic prevention and control, Vietnam is now becoming a safe country to travel to post-Covid-19. Along with a significant increase in tourist arrivals to new destinations in recent years, Vietnam's tourism industry is increasingly highly regarded. Recently, in Hostelworld's ranking of the 20 best backpacking destinations of 2020, Vietnam had five locations in the top list.

Ha Giang

Although only recently emerging as a tourist destination in the last few years, the rocky plateau of Northeast Vietnam has captivated both domestic and international tourists with its majestic beauty of pristine mountains and forests, interspersed with the romantic charm of buckwheat fields or the blooming seasons of plum, peach, and mustard flowers. Not to be overlooked are the fertile valleys, vast terraced rice paddies, and the rustic culture of the local people… All of these elements combine to create a truly enchanting Ha Giang region.

Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park

As one of the largest nature reserves in Vietnam, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park boasts a resource system comprising over 392 caves, including Son Doong Cave, the world's largest cave – a destination that attracts a large number of adventurous and exploratory tourists every year, especially international visitors.

Ninh Binh

Located very close to the capital, Ninh Binh has a very convenient location, suitable for the travel itineraries of many foreign tourists. Dubbed the "Ha Long Bay on land," it boasts diverse landscapes including mountains, rivers, limestone cliffs, and caves, along with various tours around famous spots such as Tam Coc - Bich Dong, Trang An, Mua Cave, and Am Tien Cave… Among these, Trang An has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural and Cultural Heritage site.

Ha Long Bay - Quang Ninh

A World Natural Heritage site and one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature, Ha Long Bay has long been a destination that almost 100% of international tourists visit when coming to Vietnam. In addition, the coastal city of Quang Ninh boasts many other modern tourist attractions and facilities, constantly changing its appearance year after year. Ha Long Bay - Quang Ninh ranks 18th on the list.

Quy Nhon

Ranked 20th on the list, and quite surprisingly, Quy Nhon is a newly emerging coastal region in Vietnam over the past five years. Its pristine scenery, with captivating beaches, islands, and rocky outcrops, enchants visitors. For foreign tourists, Quy Nhon is also a new and promising destination, earning it the final spot on Hostelworld's list.
