National Day September 2 has long been a sacred holiday in the hearts of every Vietnamese person. To express gratitude and respect for those historical values, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Notice No. 1013/TB-UBND, calling on agencies, units, hospitals, schools and all people in the city to hang the national flag. This activity was implemented from August 18 to September 3, lasting nearly half a month, creating a joyful and bustling atmosphere everywhere.
The flag-raising is not only a ceremonial activity, but also has profound political and cultural significance. It not only contributes to beautifying the appearance of the capital but also arouses patriotism and a sense of responsibility of each citizen towards the Fatherland.
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the Hanoi People's Committee launched a movement to hang the national flag throughout the area, creating a solemn and brilliant atmosphere, expressing patriotism and national pride.
The central streets of Hanoi such as Trang Tien, Le Duan, Phan Dinh Phung have become more brilliant than ever, with thousands of red flags with yellow stars proudly flying in the wind, blending with the colors of banners and slogans. That scene creates a vivid picture of the solidarity and unity of the whole nation, towards the important holiday.

Along with the hanging of the national flag, the Hanoi People's Committee also pays special attention to maintaining environmental sanitation and urban order, in order to ensure a clean and civilized urban space to welcome National Day. According to Official Dispatch No. 4622, issued to implement Official Dispatch No. 134/CD-TTg of the Prime Minister, departments, branches, People's Committees of communes, wards and related units are assigned to strengthen the work of collecting waste, cleaning and ensuring public order throughout the city.
According to the Hanoi People's Committee, this is an activity of profound political and cultural significance, contributing to beautifying the urban landscape and reminding today's generations of the nation's heroic traditions.
This direction clearly demonstrates the city government's concern for creating a clean, fresh living space, not only during major holidays but also as a regular responsibility. The Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned the responsibility to preside over, inspect, and urge units to implement in a synchronous, timely, complete, and effective manner. This activity not only helps beautify the urban landscape but also contributes to raising people's awareness of environmental protection, joining hands to build a green, clean, and beautiful city.
The simultaneous hanging of the national flag not only shows national pride but also creates an exciting, sacred atmosphere, towards the country's important commemorative activities.
To ensure the implementation is carried out effectively and synchronously, the City People's Committee has assigned specific responsibilities to all levels. The People's Committees of wards and communes play an important role in directing, inspecting and reminding each household and residential area to hang the flag in accordance with regulations. Similarly, the Heads of agencies and units must also be responsible for implementing and supervising the hanging of flags in their units, ensuring solemnity and proper procedures.
The country is resplendent with flags and flowers
The active participation of local authorities, together with the consensus of all people, has created a combined strength, turning the city's directives into vivid reality. Each flag hung, each street cleaned is a testament to the solidarity and unity of the people of the capital. This is not only a commemorative activity but also a patriotic emulation movement, contributing to making this year's National Day, September 2, more meaningful and solemn.
This event once again affirms the spirit of "When drinking water, remember its source" of the Vietnamese people, and at the same time demonstrates the determination to build a civilized and modern capital, worthy of the stature of a political and cultural center of the whole country.
