Two online Mid-Autumn Festival exhibitions for children

From September 20 to December 31, the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions coordinated with the Vietnam Exhibition Center for Culture and Arts to organize two online exhibitions "Vietnam Children's Fine Arts Awards 2021" and "Mid-Autumn Festival in the eyes of children".

The exhibition "Vietnam Children's Fine Arts Awards" takes place every two years, for teenagers and children aged 5-15 to encourage the development of children's fine arts activities in and out of school.

In 2021, after nearly 3 months of launching, the Organizing Committee received more than 5,000 works from 45 provinces/cities and selected 409 works for exhibition. The Organizing Committee selected 39 individual prizes (3 First prizes, 6 Second prizes, 10 Third prizes, 20 Consolation prizes) and 10 collective prizes.

The selected works vividly express many themes about love for the homeland and Vietnam; content about the life, activities and entertainment of children; children's love for Uncle Ho, grandparents, parents and family; issues of environmental protection, Covid-19 prevention, and wishes for a peaceful and happy world.

Next is the exhibition "Mid-Autumn Festival in the eyes of children" which introduces the general origin and meaning of the Mid-Autumn Festival, displays images of Uncle Ho with teenagers and children, New Year's greetings and poems from Uncle Ho to children on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, and introduces craft villages and artisans making traditional toys.

The exhibition also introduces images of the Mid-Autumn Festival in Vietnam and some Asian countries, photos of the Mid-Autumn Festival taken in the early 20th century and images of children in rural areas, highlands, border areas, islands... enjoying the festival. Traditional Mid-Autumn toys such as: star lanterns, spinning lanterns, lanterns, frog drums, hand drums, papier-mâché masks, tin ships, paper doctors, moon-watching stick players, lion heads, figurines, drumming rabbits, flute kites, bamboo dragonflies... are presented in the form of installation art.

The exhibition also displays the innovative technology application "Experience and learn about Mid-Autumn Festival with children", introduces smart robots - Vietnamese artificial intelligence robots through communication activities, storytelling, math solving, poetry reading...
