A representative from Vietnam Airlines stated that, for the first time since the COVID-19 outbreak in Vietnam, the airline's flights on May 29th increased by 36%, reaching 300 flights per day, due to the rapid recovery of domestic air travel. With this figure, the airline has officially fully restored its domestic flight operations to the same level as in 2019. Therefore, in June, the airline announced plans to open six new domestic routes to further develop and improve its domestic flight network.
Disinfection procedures and passenger health checks at airports are still being carried out by airlines in accordance with regulations of the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority.
Similarly, a representative from Bamboo Airways stated that from June 1st, the airline will increase the number of flights between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to 16 flights per day using wide-body Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, with an average of one flight every two hours on all days of the week. Flights from the two major airports in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City connecting to Nha Trang, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Quy Nhon, Da Lat, Buon Ma Thuot, etc., will also have increased frequency to serve the travel needs of the public. At the same time, Bamboo Airways announced that it will fully restore its domestic flight network in June.
Vietjet Air has also resumed operations on all 45 domestic routes, with over 300 flights per day, and is offering many attractive promotions. Specifically, Vietjet Air is giving away over 2 million tickets priced from only 1,600 VND (excluding taxes and fees) applicable to all 45 domestic routes across Vietnam with over 300 eco-friendly flights daily.
