According to Deputy Minister of Transport Le Anh Tuan, reports from the media and the public indicate that operations at some airports are currently overloaded, with delays and cancellations on the rise, and passenger traffic exceeding the designed capacity of the terminals, especially at Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat international airports. This situation is affecting the quality of passenger services, causing traffic congestion around the terminals, and creating frustration for passengers and the public.

To address the aforementioned issues, the Ministry of Transport requires relevant agencies and units to immediately focus on implementing several tasks to resolve the problem of delayed and canceled flights.
Specifically, the Ministry of Transport requested the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to strictly coordinate slot allocation in accordance with legal regulations (monitoring and managing the use of slots by airlines, revoking slots as prescribed, etc.), especially at airports experiencing congestion such as Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat, in order to avoid bottlenecks during peak hours.
Identify the causes of flight delays and cancellations by airlines in order to develop solutions; periodically publish data on flight delays and cancellations by airlines.
Disseminate information to passengers and the public about flights, check-in times, etc., in a complete and timely manner. Encourage passengers to use self-check-in kiosks or other online check-in methods to reduce congestion at airport check-in areas.
Urgently establish inspection teams to monitor transportation and passenger services during the peak summer season of 2022 at airports, especially Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat International Airports; promptly direct, correct, and handle any violations (if any). Organize close monitoring of security and safety in aviation operations.
