How should passengers traveling by plane to localities be quarantined?

Hanoi

According to Hanoi regulations, passengers from Ho Chi Minh City staying in the capital will have to be quarantined for 7 days at the city's quarantine area or at one of the 20 announced hotels. Guests will pay for their own quarantine and testing costs. After 7 days of quarantine, guests will continue to monitor their health at their place of residence for 7 days.

Passengers from Da Nang to Noi Bai and staying in Hanoi will be quarantined at their place of residence for 7 days, tested twice on the first and sixth day before ending the quarantine and continue to monitor their health at their place of residence/home for the next 7 days.

Currently Noi Bai airport only receives flights from Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.

Hai Phong

Like the capital, Hai Phong City applies regulations that passengers from Ho Chi Minh City arriving at Cat Bi airport and staying in Hai Phong must be quarantined for 7 days, with samples taken on the third and seventh days; continue to self-isolate at home/place of residence for 7 days, with samples taken on the last day of quarantine.

The city has listed quarantine hotels in Hai An, Ngo Quyen, Le Chan, Hong Bang districts... with many room rates for passengers to choose from. Currently, Cat Bi airport only receives flights from Ho Chi Minh City.

Thua Thien-Hue

Thua Thien-Hue also requires passengers from Ho Chi Minh City to be quarantined for 7 days from the date of arrival in the locality. After completing the quarantine, passengers will continue to be medically monitored at home/place of residence for another 7 days.

In addition, before arriving in Hue, passengers need to declare via the link.https://tuongtac.thuathienhue.gov.vn/khaibaoand must be approved before purchasing tickets. Currently, the province only accepts flights from Ho Chi Minh City.

Lam Dong

Similarly, Lam Dong requires passengers to be quarantined for 7 days at a local quarantine area or a quarantine area at a business and monitor their health for the next 7 days, and be tested on the first and seventh days from the date of entry into Lam Dong province. Currently, the province has only received flights from Thanh Hoa.

Danang

Although there is no regulation on centralized quarantine, Da Nang City requires passengers to quarantine at home/place of residence for 14 days for those returning from epidemic areas. During this time, passengers will be tested by PCR once upon quarantine, twice on the fourth day, three times on the seventh day, and four times on the 14th day from the date of leaving the locality.

Currently, Da Nang only receives flights from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Can Tho, and Dak Lak.

Most other provinces and cities require passengers to quarantine, monitor their health at home/residence for 7 days and test for Covid-19 once or twice, such as Dien Bien, Thanh Hoa, Quang Nam, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Kien Giang, and Nghe An.

In addition to local regulations on medical quarantine, air passengers must also comply with the regulations of the Ministry of Transport. Specifically, passengers must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 (Green card on the Electronic Health Book/PC-COVID or a certificate of full vaccination issued by a competent authority, the last dose was injected at least 14 days ago) or have recovered from Covid-19 within 6 months of returning to the locality (with a hospital discharge certificate/certificate of recovery; have a negative Covid-19 test result within 72 hours before boarding the plane.

Passengers must declare their health status; complete the epidemic prevention commitment when checking in; and not take the flight if they have a cough, fever, difficulty breathing, muscle aches, sore throat, etc. On the plane, passengers must wear masks, disinfect their hands, and limit contact.

During the process of returning to the place of residence or stay, guests must follow 5K, avoid contact with crowds; proactively notify the local authorities of the place of residence or stay; self-monitor health or quarantine at the place of residence or stay according to specific regulations of each locality on epidemic prevention measures.
