Trolltunga is one of Norway's most beautiful and unique cliffs. It's also known as the "Devil's Tongue," due to its shape resembling a giant tongue jutting out from the cliff face, licking the blue sky above the majestic landscape below. Trolltunga rises 1,100 meters above sea level, appearing to float about 700 meters above Lake Skjeggedal. The view from this "rock tongue" is breathtaking and many dream of visiting it at least once.

This unique rock formation is located west of Skjeggedal, near the town of Odda in Hordaland County. The cliffs formed during the Ice Age, approximately 10,000 years ago, when the edges of glaciers cracked. Ice formed between the fissures of the gorge, then melted, causing the mountain to split into these fascinating shapes. The deep fissures can still be seen on the road to Trolltunga today.
The trek from Skjeggedal to Trolltunga, a rocky outcrop, crosses many high mountains and takes approximately 10 to 12 hours round trip, with an ascent of about 1,000 meters. The best time to climb is from mid-June, when the snow has melted, until mid-September each year.
From Odda, you can drive to Tysedal via Highway 13, take a bus, or a taxi. From Tysedal, follow the signs for another 7 km to Skjeggedal. Parking here costs approximately 400,000 VND per day. The climb begins at the Magelibanen (now defunct) mountain railway. Follow the right edge of the tracks, marked with a red T. There are many other signposts along the route.

- Be prepared for the worst-case weather conditions.
